While in Leakey, Jeff and I met a real cool dude named John riding an 09 Bonneville T100. After riding the sisters and sharing lunch at the MC museum, we started talking about the differences between a carbureted bonny vs a FI. John made the offer to swap bikes for the ride back to Leakey, and I foolishly agreed. His FI model had noticeably more power and quicker throttle response. I pulled over at the first overlook I found so we could trade back, I was afraid I might get spoiled. It was too late, now I know what I'm missing. _________________ Brian H

When they announced FI on the twin I figured it was about emissions control. But I know if one is able to find a properly tuned map, good performance gains may be had.
At some point I'll be going into the engine, and I'm keeping an open mind on upgrading carbs vs. FI. Right now I can't cost justify FI, but by the time I'm ready I expect it will be an alternative.
Besides, that bike still had the new sticker-shock smell which always makes them run better than your old beater. _________________ David Day

Aye, I liked it too (I jumped aboard after Brian reliquished the bike). It wasn't a stock a job, though--he had D&Ds on it and it had been remapped. Still, seemed pretty nice. _________________ Jeff

| I had the 2 into 1 arrow on RR l and there was a difference between that and the stock exhaust, will have the same on RRll. Have ridden my buddies carbed version with arrow 2 into 2 and my fi model seemed more powerful... |
